Sign upFellas. Summer is right around the corner. And if you’ve got that quarantine mop still, it might be time to go.
Got a big head? Then a clean fade is a great way to accentuate your jawline and give your head a more manageable shape. There are 3 types of fades… if you’re not into the super short hair on the sides, go with a short fade. Everyone is different here. So ask your barber what they think would look the best. And run with it.
About 2 years ago, I asked my barber “What haircuts do you think will be in soon that no one is expecting?” And he said the European crop. I was like noooo way. Well fast forward and here we are.
The French crop is an interesting one. Although it’s a little different, it’s a great look if you’re willing to try something new and are sick of your typical style.
If you’re not willing to cut off that mop just yet, a minimalist quiff is a clean and simple cut that gives your long hair some added flair. It’s a great cut for summer weddings, fancy events, or anything in between. Classy, modern, and clean.
The messy cut isn’t just for the Gen Z crowd. If you’ve got pretty thick hair that's a little more straight, you can definitely pull it off. It especially looks good with a streetwear style or a seersucker suit.
Yes, spiky hair is back. If you want to embody that 2000s style again, now is the time to do it. But, if you’ve got a long face, you might want to avoid it. You don’t want to look like a wood plank haha. I would highly recommend doing this cut with a fade. If the sides are too long, it could look super awkward. Risky haircut, but looks great if done right.
If you’ve got a little more of a preppy style, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t bring back the Ivy League look. Especially if fades aren’t your thing. Pairs perfectly for a vineyard trip and give you the ability to keep some length.
The buzzcut left for a while, didn’t it? Well, it’s back, along with the continued push of 2000s nostalgia. If you’re simply over doing your hair and want to enjoy summer with easy maintenance, then bring back the buzzcut. Simple. Cheap. You could even cut it yourself if you’d like.
The pixie cut has long been synonymous with feminity. But not in this day and age. The Pixie cut can be a great look if you’re a skinnier dude that has a more hipster style. And it’s really become a modern look over the last year. With a little edge.
The textured cut is a classic. It’s something that will never go away. And if you have thinner hair and want to give it more volume, then this is the cut for you. And it works for any kind of hair type. Whether that’s curly, thick hair, etc…
Wave check! Like some of the other cuts here, shorter hair is moving to the forefront in 2021 for styles that men are looking for. For me, the best fade for this is a high fade. A tapered look also looks good with this cut. If you’ve got the hair to do it, and have had long hair a bit… it might be time for a switch up! Especially as it heats up towards the summer.
