Virgil Abloh's final collection for Louis Vuitton is set to release at the end of April. And with his recent passing, Louis V continues to celebrate the late designer.
The pre-Fall/Winter 2022 collection was "completed and photographed" by Abloh before is recent passing. Abloh partnered with Milan-based tattoo artist Ghusto Leon to bring a new vision to LV with graffitied suits, jacquard and embroidery throughout the collection. You can see Ghusto's signature tattooed works on shorts and shirts throughout the collection. Even on a quilted bomber.
Abloh wanted this collection to highlight his "boyhood ideology" which he explained in his press notes for the collection:
"What makes menswear? Boys do. I believe that building blocks stacked upon each other through our lives form the narrative of what defines menswear.”
And I love what's coming out of this collection. Abloh has always been known to be ahead of the curve, and continues to redefine fashion from every angle. You can find some of the looks of the collection here and plan for the release on April 28th by looking in stores or online.
