From a House on a Hill, in London 2010, SCRT started as a self-funded project, working with local artists to produce exclusive and unique printwear. In 2021, the label has grown & developed into a forward-thinking, independent British streetwear brand collaborating with creatives from around the world.
Stay Creative Co. works from their studio in Brixton, and the flagship store on Shoreditch's Redchurch St. The brand draws influences from subcultures both past & present while creating cut & sew collections focused on vintage-inspired workwear. They often find inspiration in cult films, forgotten corners of media, and art in all forms.
Their designs utilize a box-fit, taking outlines from vintage patterns; even workwear that has survived extensive use. Fabrics are simple and comfortable, with detailing often used to express the themes within their criteria.
As an independent streetwear brand, they believe in creating with a conscience. Their growth as creatives is tied to the steps they take to become a more sustainable, responsible, and community-led brand.
In 2020, they moved the majority of their cut & sew to Portugal and started relationships with several skillful Portuguese manufacturing partners whose operations are grounded in expertise and tradition. Their print-wear has always been produced within the UK.
Now they are incorporating locally sourced organic cotton and upcycled fabrics wherever possible. They’ve also improved their packaging, stopped using any plastic air sacs or plastic void fill, and included the use of recycled materials and paper tape. Every piece of SCRT clothing is designed in their studio in Brixton, with extensive and practical use in mind.
