Tennis is a sport that’s grown in popularity over the last few years. It has also grown as a style in the fashion world…

With brands making a resurgence like Prince to new brands popping up like Palmes, tennis has made its way into the fashion world with its pastel palettes and summer cuts. Whether you’re actually into the sport or you’re a full-time player, either way, you can enjoy wearing the style. It’s affluent, perfect for the summer, and bright with unique colors.

I’m highlighting a few brands where you can pick up some items for your next tennis outfit. Some you’ve heard of, and others you haven’t.

Sigrún

Sigrún brings a contemporary touch to the old classic, especially with its recent summer collection. The American tennis label uses lightweight technical fabrics to enhance performance but double for comfort in a classic setting.

The label is also inspired by Sigrún Valkyrie, which is a god-like warrior in Norse mythology. The Valkyrie logo appears on pieces that represent the brand’s belief that tennis players are able to choose their own paths and take responsibility for their actions. Where tennis labels focus on traditional styles, Sigrún focuses on a sense of flair.

David Caylor, the brand’s founder, has also made sustainability a focus. Each style is made with over 50% recycled or organic material to meet the brand’s “green leaf” qualifications and 86% of synthetic fabric content is certified recycled fibers.

Palmes

Palmes is a new menswear sports brand that’s rooted in tennis culture. And it’s designed for wearing on and off the court with a goal of bringing modernity to the sport and its culture.

Their collections have ranged from sportswear elements to tennis-related accessories. And the majority of their clothing is produced in Europe, made with eco-friendly materials. And the brand collaborates frequently, bringing freshness to its collection every season. And they continue to explore art. architecture, design, and pop culture while tying them together in the tennis world.

Tombolo

Although Tombolo releases sportswear collections across several sports, their recent tennis release was too good not to share. And their new set dedicated to tennis includes a plush terrycloth full-zip short-sleeved top with matching shorts. The name of the collection is called “Fault One” and comes with forest green contrasting colors.

With original artwork adding a nostalgic flair, Tombolo wants its clothing to be a wearable form of self-expression. And not just for men, but for everyone in any setting. And they’ve made serious focus on committing to environmental and humanitarian causes by being part of 1% for the Planet and $1 for the People.

Rowing Blazers and K-Swiss

We all know what K-Swiss is. It’s been synonymous with tennis for years. And the New York based label Rowing Blazers has partnered with the legacy brand to bring a Summer 22 tennis collection. And it’s smashing. Bringing a nostalgic aesthetic with K-Swiss’s tennis heritage.

The collection is truly 90s-inspired, features graphic pullovers and French terry work across the board. It also includes nylon shorts with cotton caps.

From Jack Carlson, Rowing Blazers’ founder:

“I’ve been wearing K-Swiss since I was a kid, and the Si-18 is an iconic tennis shoe in a way that just a small number of sneakers are truly important in the history of athletic footwear. So this collaboration is very meaningful for me. I wanted to use a very wearable ‘90s palette, and I was inspired by the tennis gear I collected growing up, going to the Open, and attending tennis camps. Although rowing became my main sport, tennis was always my passion.”

You can check out the full collection on Rowing Blazers or at the K-Swiss online store.

Hopefully, this puts ya in the spirit to get out there and swing around a bit. If not, you can still grab a lot of these items and add them to your wardrobe for some serious drip 💦
